What a privilege it is to be a woman!

In Genesis 2:18, God said “it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”

God then presented us to the man, inferring that we are God's special gift. Both man and woman were created in God's image, but designed for different functions: equally important but with different roles.

In the original Hebrew, the word for “helper” is “ezer”, which means to protect, to aid, to succour. These are all strong, compassionate, relational, life-giving words. The Bible tells us we are to:

  • support

  • deliver from distress

  • see and care for the oppressed

  • shield and protect

  • rescue the poor, the weak and needy

  • comfort.

When we join together to perform our proper duties; as life-givers and corporate helpers, remembering that we are created in God's image, that He is our reference point, that God's Word is our authority and His glory is our purpose, we contribute to the firmness and stability of the church family, our own family and the wider community.

The Women's Ministry Committee facilitates relationship-building within and between the Macksville and Nambucca Heads congregations, and with the wider community.

We hold a Mother's Day Event and an End of Year event annually. There are also regular teaching events to equip and encourage our ladies, so that they may fulfil their Titus 2:3-4 calling and be able to go out into the world boldly, knowing that they always have support and refuge in Christ and their church family.
